One would think Roger Federer would not refuse any wishes. But Hollywood actor Robert De Niro gave the Swiss tennis player a basket in a funny video after he was asked to project a movie in the Swiss mountains.
With the Matterhorn in the background and the sun shining on his face, Roger Federer steps through an elegant chalet. On the phone: Twice-Academy Award winner Robert De Niro, who wants to win him for a role in a movie about Switzerland.
The 77-year-old American actor replied that the country is too perfect. Mountains, sunshine, and shimmering lakes are all good and good, but as an actor he simply lacks drama, he says in the commercial posted on YouTube.
Even when Federer tries to woo the movie star with more excitement, like a private ski tour or paragliding with a landing on a cow pasture, De Niro remains tough. “This is not happening” – it will not happen.
In fact, everything clearly went better: “I wasn’t sure if he would agree to take part in our Swiss campaign,” Roger Federer said, according to a press release by the Swiss Tourism Authority. “I would like to discover the natural beauty of Switzerland soon – perhaps with Roger,” said Robert De Niro.
