The Consulate General in New York honored the achievements of the four Swiss New Jersey Devils with the “Swiss Impact Award”.
Ambassador Nikolin Jäger to the Swiss Consulate General in New York honored Niko Hischer, Jonas Siegenthaler, Timo Meyer and Akira Schmid for their accomplishments with the New Jersey Devils. The quartet was awarded the Swiss Impact Award, presented for the first time, for extraordinary achievement by Swiss musicians in the USA.
NHL players made headlines this month as four Swiss players played for the same club for the first time ever following Mayer’s deal from San Jose to New Jersey. Guard Schmid, who was recently reinstated to the AHL’s Utica Comets, was not in attendance at the ceremony. The Devils qualified early for the playoffs. The last time they achieved this was in 2018.
