The lack of a Slopestyle medal for Ragettli and Co.
For the Swiss Freestyle players it was a disappointment in the tilt-swimming final. Andrei Ragitley, the best in the qualifiers, and Fabian Bosch both missing medals. Kim Gober gives the lead.
Not much was missing from Andrei Ragitley’s first Olympic medal. In the end, the 23-year-old from Films was 1.85 points behind Swede Jesper Tjdir who took the bronze, keeping Grisons fourth.
Ragitley showed two good runs, but couldn’t improve again compared to qualifying. In the first round, he didn’t run a railroad section quite as well as he wanted, in the second round, he was his best, having trouble with Grave on the second jump, which ultimately cost him the medal. On the third attempt, when he had to risk everything, Ragitley had already failed on the first jump, which blew up the precious metal’s dream.
Bösch showed a good run for the first time, which – similar to qualification – had a relatively low rating and “only” 78.05 points. The 24-year-old from Engelberg was unable to improve after that because he had already made a mistake in the railway department. Kim Jobser, eighth in the qualifiers, was unable to compete in the final due to a hamstring injury.
