Football: CL title for Frei

Goalkeeper Stefan Frey is the winner of the Champions League. The Seattle Sounders with the St. Gallen guard, who has been a US citizen since 2017, won the title in the North/Central American region for the first time. In the second leg final, the Sounders defeated Pumas Onam of Mexico 3-0 at home in front of a record crowd of 67,000 spectators. The first leg a week ago had ended 2-2. The 36-year-old Frye, who worked in Seattle for a good eight years, contributed to the victory with some miraculous saves and was named Player of the Tournament. Seattle is the first team from the United States in 22 years and LA Galaxy to win the Champions League or CONCACAF Cup.

Basketball: “Oldy” ball raises the temperature

In the quarterfinals, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks 2-0 thanks to a 129-109 home win. Chris Paul played a huge role in the success. The 37-year-old “old man” scored 14 out of 28 points in the last quarter. It is also 2-0 in the East between the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers. Miami won Game 2 119-103.
