The British Post Office is issuing special stamps featuring the Spice Girls – to commemorate the founding of the girl group 30 years ago. The images show musicians Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie Chisholm (“Mel C”) and Melanie Brown (“Mel B”) at previous shows, the PA news agency reported.

The Spice Girls entered the charts in the 1990s with their “Wannabe” song and music video for A Hotel. The girl group came out of a performance and sang songs like “2 Become 1”, “Spice Up Your Life” and “Viva Forever”.

First Girl Band: The British Postal Service prints “Spice Girls” stamps

“When we founded the Spice Girls, we could never have dreamed that 30 years later, we would be the first girl band to have an entire selection of labels dedicated to them,” PA quoted the musicians as saying in a statement.

The ten stamps show not only the collective image from 1997 to 2012, but also the individual portraits of the five women. For example, singer Geri wears her iconic dress with the Union Jack, British flag in one image. For example, there were already many British specialty stamps for The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones.
