Sony presents the Bravia XR TV series

Sony presents the Bravia XR TV series

In the new year, Sony is launching four new TV models in the Bravia XR series. All devices are equipped with the Cognitive Processor XR and the new XR Clear Image technology. The range includes mini-LED, OLED and QD-OLED devices.

The Bravia XR TV series from Sony is growing: the manufacturer introduces four new models in the new year. All models are equipped with a new version of the XR Cognitive Processor and new XR Clear Image technology, Sony announced. XR Clear Image provides better noise reduction, increases motion clarity and reduces motion blur. The improved Cognitive Processor XR should make the overall TV experience feel more realistic.

Sony has developed the XR Backlight Master Drive for richer blacks and more natural colours. This local dimming algorithm individually controls thousands of tiny LED lights for a colorful festival of lights.

Sony has integrated Acoustic Center Sync into all TVs in the new series. The TV sound system can be synchronized to the center channel of a compatible Sony soundbar and converted into a soundbar. In addition to the speakers, the devices must also support the “360 Spatial Sound Mapping” technology. These create phantom speakers and improve the sound field.

For gaming enthusiasts, Sony has bundled the Bravia XR series with exclusive functions such as tone mapping with auto HDR and auto genre picture mode. They should improve the picture quality when gaming and streaming. The TVs are also compatible with Google TV and movie fans can get their money’s worth in 4K UHD and IMAX Enhanced quality on the Bravia Core app.
