He’s been walking around in a hoodie, and today he’s also wearing a dress: Rapper Biel Nemo, 22, is back with a whole new look — and new music. While he has published English singles in recent years, one single is being released in Swiss German for the first time in three years.
“Chleiderchäschtli” is the name of the song Nemo recorded with rapper KT Gorique from western Switzerland in collaboration with Zalando. In an interview with Blick, Bieler talked about his new lifestyle and revealed, “I can express my mood with fashion.”
Painted nails give him a new attitude to life
His “Chleiderchäschtli” is as colorful and diverse as the rapper himself, “When I first put on a skirt, I found it very sexy,” he recalls. The people in the store looked at him from an angle, but he grew out of it.
Sometimes Nemo wears high heels whenever he feels like it – and goes for a manicure. Time and time again he has a new design drawn on his nails, so he has a “new attitude to life every three weeks.” He likes to get used to new things: “This way I can find out who I am and what I want.”
Live and let live
In search of himself, Nemo moved: he has been living in the German capital of Berlin for about five months. “I think a lot of the people who live there can express themselves more freely and be themselves more than anywhere else.”
However, he has already moved: last Friday he left for Los Angeles (USA) and will be working on new music there for two months. “Right now, I’m focusing on English,” says Nemo. But: “I try a lot and I don’t rule out singing in Swiss German again.”
jump into cold water
Nemo travels to Los Angeles alone. Does this scare him? He says, “No, I’m looking forward to spending time with myself.” Likes to jump in the deep. “So not literally.” He only did this once in Lake Bell – “Then I landed on a sliver!”
Hopefully there won’t be another Bieler mishap in Los Angeles – instead, it will open up new and exciting opportunities.
