Already one race before the end of the 2022 MX2 World Championship season, Simon Längenfelder had reason to celebrate. After the race at Saint Jean d’Angely, the Bavarians cannot be compensated for third place in the championship standings.
Simon Langenfelder continued his impressive performance on the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team by showing impressive speed in France in the first round of MX2. Although he started in fourth and also finished in that position, he set much faster lap times than the leader at various points in time. Unfortunately, a collision on the first lap of race two prevented this speed from being translated into the podium. Langenfelder made his way from the end of the field to 10th and finished 6th overall. More important: As a result, Langenfelder took third place in the championship standings. No one could argue this place for it.
Simon Langenfelder
“Today I had a good start in the first round. In 4th it was a very lonely race! I tried to save some energy at the end. In the second round I had a bad start. I went from past 10 with some good lap times. I think I could have been On the podium without that crash. The good thing is that I’m now third in the championship.”
Undeniably, Simon reached the top of the world in MX2. After the P30 in 2020 and the P10 last year, things are going uphill for the young driver. For the year 2023, signs are on the way for the title.
