The Russian businessman was deported to the United States
A Russian businessman with links to the Kremlin was captured by U.S. police in Zurich on Saturday and transferred to the United States.
The Russian businessman linked to the Kremlin was extradited to the United States on Saturday. The person associated with the Kremlin is being tested for large-scale internal trade in the United States.
According to the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ) on Saturday evening, U.S. police officers captured Vladislav Klushin in Zurich and boarded a flight with him to the United States. He was accused in the United States of doing multi-million dollar internal trade with several associates.
At the behest of the FOJ and at the request of the United States, the Russian national was arrested in Sion VS in March this year and remanded in custody pending extradition. On April 19, 2021, the US Embassy in Bern formally requested the extradition of Klushin, in accordance with a bilateral extradition treaty between Switzerland and the United States. The FOJ ordered deportation to the United States at the end of June.
Kliushin appealed to the Federal Criminal Court and later to the Federal Supreme Court against the FOJ’s extradition decision. This did not happen with the decision made on December 10th. The results of the FOJ of June 24, 2021 are legally binding.
In his complaint to the Federal Criminal Court, the Russian accused him of being persecuted for “political reasons” and hoped that Switzerland would benefit from the fact that he would not be deported for political crimes. However, the Belinsona court had no doubts about the “independence of the American judiciary” and dismissed his objection.
Klyushin owns a media surveillance and analysis company used by the Russian government.
