Belgium's all-time top scorer Romelu Lukaku is fighting on an unfamiliar front in the European Championship. The striker is in disagreement with the video referee.

“Not again!” Romelu Lukaku no longer understood the world on Saturday evening. Once again, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) provided evidence that the striker wearing the number 10 shirt had scored from an offside position. It was just the tip of the shoe in Cologne's 2-0 win over Romania, by a few millimetres, that tipped the scales against Lukaku.
At least this decision against Lukaku had no impact on the outcome of the match. Things were different last Monday in Frankfurt.
Belgium were unexpectedly beaten 1-0 by Slovakia in their first group match – also due to Lukaku being later denied a brace. During the supposed equalizer about an hour later, the video assistant also noticed an offside in the final phase and the goal was not given because his teammate Luis Obinda helped him as a setter.
Will it work against Ukraine?
Scored three times, had three replayed – no one will be able to challenge Lukaku's European Championship record any time soon. The hunky striker, who was loaned to Roma from Chelsea last season, still has to wait for his 86th goal in a Red Devils uniform.
Lukaku's next chance to achieve his first regular sense of success will not take long. On Wednesday, Belgium will meet Ukraine in the final group match in Stuttgart.
