Risk of infection: Sachsenmilch recalls fresh milk
Liebersdorf. Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH has recalled fresh milk containing 1.5 percent fat in a one-liter package due to a potential risk of infection. The company announced on Thursday that its own investigations had identified microbiological aberrations that could cause the infection.

The reason was a technical issue and has now been resolved. This means that only fresh milk with a best before date of October 8 is affected.

The company explained that the infection can be particularly dangerous in infants, young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weak immune systems.

The milk should not be consumed and has been withdrawn from sale immediately after abnormalities occur. Already purchased milk affected by the recall can be exchanged at the relevant store without a receipt or the money will be refunded.
All Sachsenmilch brand items, products and best-by dates are not affected by the recall.
