Abu Okla was killed in clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday. A second reporter, Ali Smoudi, was wounded. Media reporters reported a raid in the city of Jenin in the occupied territories.
Israel denies these allegations
After several attacks in Israel in recent weeks, Israeli security forces have responded with raids and arrests in Palestinian towns and villages.
The Israeli army said that the forces returned fire after coming under “heavy fire” in Jenin. There is a possibility that “journalists have been injured – possibly by Palestinian gunmen”.
