Remind Mercedes Sprinter: Reverse defective camera

The Federal Automobile Transport Authority (KBA) is asking car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz to recall 24,953 Sprinter vehicles in Germany. 74,762 vehicles are affected worldwide. In the United States, the recall was posted on April 27, 2022. There alone are 12,086 vehicles affected.

Due to the difference in the supplier development process, the rear view camera software may not conform to the current product specifications. In some cases, the image from the rear camera does not appear on the center display after the rear gear is engaged. Instead, the center display continues to show the current image (eg navigation, radio, etc.). You may also see a black screen with an error message.
