Tom Lüthi is almost continuing the season as he took summer vacation five weeks ago. Lüthi was not able to fully maintain the level of the first day of practice (sixth), but in qualifying he drove 13th in the area of the last Grand Prix at the end of June in Assen. In that time, he started the race from 12th on the grid and finally ranked himself 14th, his best result of the season so far.
Lüthi lost nearly 7 tenths of the fastest in qualifying, World Championship leader Remy Gardner of Australia. As it was announced on Saturday, Gardner will advance to the moto class with teammate Kalex and World Cup runner-up Raul Fernandez in 2022.
Martin from first place in the moto
In MotoGP, Spain’s Jorge Martin took first place. He is the second pole for the Ducati driver, who is completing his first season in the First Division. Former champion Valentino Rossi, who announced his retirement at the end of the season, will start from 17th.
