Next week, the first Migros vending machine shop will open
Swiss retailers are improving their concepts of unmanned shops where you can shop around the clock. After Valora’s Avec Box, Migros Ostschweiz is now trying Teo.

Shop 24/7. This is not a problem on the Internet. However, Migros is now testing the branch’s 24-hour operation. Without sales staff, it is monitored by video and sensors.
The first demo shop – lots of wood, built in the shape of a tube – will open next Thursday in Bürglen TG. “The interior design and the work around it are in full swing,” Silke Seichter of the construction committee at Migros Ostschweiz tells Blick.
Teo is the name of Migros’ new vending machine shop. Imported from Germany from the local organic supermarket chain Tegut, which has been owned by the Migros Zurich cooperative for nearly ten years.
The second beta store will follow at the end of October
However, Teo’s domain is not exclusively organic. According to Seichter, everyday and spontaneous needs can be covered. The basic range includes 800 products on an area of 50 square meters. How do you get to the store? Customers can access using debit and credit cards and a Cumulus QR code. This can also be used for payment. Twint is also acceptable.
Seichter says the range has of course not been fixed yet. “We are constantly adapting to customer needs.” Opposite the street “Daily St. Gallen » Seichter confirms that a second pilot branch will open at Winterthur ZH in the Neuhegi district of Sulzerallee at the end of October.
Migros is not the first retailer in Switzerland to experiment with vending machines. Valora is a leader here in formats like Avec Box and Avec 25/7. However, the latter is served during the day. A test is conducted with the Voi Cube cargo box in Migros Aare.
