After that, the royal appointment calendar was empty – until now. On August 10, Prince Albert was in a good mood at the Hercules-EPS International Athletics Meeting at Stade Louis II in Monaco. No wonder the sports-loving guardian did not want to miss the event in his homeland. Former professional swimmer Charlene certainly loved to compete, but the 44-year-old was absent from Team Albert on Wednesday. Instead, the Prince had a great time with the other guests, especially with Gabriel Sabharwal, Secretary of Peace & Sport USA, and was talking intently about shopping in the stands.

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert last dated together on July 20 in Rome, when they met Pope Francis, 85, for a private gathering at the Vatican. A date that meant a lot to the faithful couple, especially after Charlene’s long journey with illness last year. A two-week trip to South Africa turned into a stay of several months in her ancient homeland, where the princess suffered from a serious infection of the ear, nose and throat and had to undergo several surgeries. In November 2021, she was allowed to return to Monaco, but then had to say goodbye to her loved ones and continue treatment in a clinic outside the principality. She has been back in Monaco since March of this year and has been involved in the official appointments again for a few weeks.
