Polaroid Go: The instant camera comes in a compact format

Polaroid launches a new instant camera. The Polaroid Go is the smallest model of the US instant camera pioneer to date. There’s also an identical miniature version of the square movie format, as announced by the manufacturer.

The Polaroid Go is based on the typical design of Polaroid cameras, but is much smaller than the classic models. It measures 10.5 inches long, 8.39 inches wide, and 6.15 inches high.

With selfie mirror and self-timer

According to the manufacturer, the camera includes a newly developed selfie mirror, self-timer, dynamic flash, dual exposure, and enough battery life for 15 films. The battery has a capacity of 750 mAh.

The lens has a focal length of 51.1mm and a light intensity of 1: 5.2. Shutter speed is between 1/125 and 30 seconds.

Prices and launch

The image format size of the Polaroid Go movie is 66.6 x 53.9mm, although the image area is smaller, 47 x 46mm. The development time takes 10 to 15 minutes. The film is available in double packaging with eight photos twice for 27 CHF.

RRP price for Polaroid Go is CHF 136. The camera is expected to go on sale in September.

A good photo can be taken quickly with a mobile phone. If you take pictures with an analog camera, the time and effort required will be much greater. Nonetheless – or perhaps because of that – film photography is currently experiencing a resurgence.
