  • Dario Colonna finished his career ninth in the 50km classic at Holmenkollen.
  • Switzerland crashed in the second-to-last round, but still put in a solid performance.
  • The victory goes to local hero Martin Ninget.

Dario Colonia’s farewell performance could have ended poorly with a good 15km left. The Münstertaler fell after the fall of the Norwegian Simen Hegstad Krüger, who was running in front of him. Bad luck, however, Cologna came back and was able to continue racing (see video below).

In the end, it was enough for the 35-year-old to finish ninth in his 285th World Cup race and final in the final against Krueger. In the latter part of the season, the Swiss took advantage of the absence of the Russians to occupy the top ten this winter. In the end he presented him with a bottle of champagne and cracked the cork.

However, Cologne can no longer keep up with the absolute top. This had stabilized after about 30 kilometers. In the end, Martin Ningit was victorious in a purely Norwegian triple battle before Sjur Röthe and Didrik Tönseth. This was the 29-year-old’s first World Cup win.
