OpenAI releases API for ChatGPT

OpenAI announced a programming interface for ChatGPT. The API aims to provide developers with the opportunity to integrate a chatbot into their own applications.

OpenAI provides an API for ChatGPT. In this way, developers should be able to integrate chatbot into their software and products, such as OpenAI Reports. An API for Whisper’s speech-to-text model is now available from OpenAI.

The interface gives access to an updated version of the GPT model called gpt-3.5-turbo. 1,000 icons cost $0.002 — that’s ten times cheaper than using existing GPT 3.5 models, OpenAI wrote in a blog post.

OpenAI also advertises Dedicated Instances in Azure for developers who don’t want to run their API requests on shared infrastructure. After that, developers no longer pay for each token, but for the period when part of the infrastructure is reserved for their applications. This gives developers better control over the system load and allows them to optimize the available speed. According to OpenAI, the model should be economically beneficial for users who use more than 450 million words/tokens per day.

By the way, at the beginning of February, OpenAI launched an AI-generated text recognition tool. Read more here.
