North Korea has a new (propaganda) song, sorry sausage

North Korea has released a new propaganda song. Other countries send such masterpieces to the Economic and Social Council. But listen and see for yourself.

We've all been under the wrong impression. North Korea has to be the country with the happiest people. She is fortunately protected and guided by her “friendly father” Kim Jong Un. People are so happy that they have now dedicated a song to him. How can you sing while smiling like that (forced)? We don't know either.

So, are you still here? Didn't he migrate? Then you must be immune to propaganda. Congratulations. Here's a little (serious) context on the whole thing.

According to Reuters news agency, the promotional song has already been performed live by an orchestra. The occasion was the completion of the construction of 10,000 new apartments said to have been built by the regime.

The chant chanted by various military personnel, medical staff, workers, school children and the elderly is evident in the song's chorus: “Let us love Kim Jong Un, the good father.” Another line can be translated as follows: “People believe and follow uniformly.” According to the Reuters news agency, the propaganda song is also intended to serve this purpose: it is another attempt to align the country's entire propaganda more closely with leader Kim Jong-un and thus strengthen his position in the regime.

For the same purpose, the country's leadership recently renamed the holiday, which is the birthday of Kim's grandfather, the country's founder Kim Il Sung. This day was formerly referred to as the “Day of the Sun,” but state-controlled media now refers to it only as the “April Holiday.”

Good reason to rejoice

However, the reality in the country, which is largely internationally isolated, gives little reason for joy. North Korea suffers from food shortages, and large segments of the population have been suffering from malnutrition for years. The country is subject to international sanctions because of the nuclear and missile program, which is a prestige project of Governor Kim, who is supposed to enjoy great popularity.

In the summer of 2021, the regime acknowledged the existence of a food crisis. Kim Jong Un spoke at the time about the “tense” food situation. (LZO)
