The Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) has expansion for its lower divisions declared. The new format sees the creation of five regional events in the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, feeding into the larger NLC competitions.
The format eliminates the third and fourth leagues of the NLC and instead places only the first and second leagues above these new regional events. This change has been made in an effort to encourage grassroots competition in the regions.
At the end of a season, the top two teams from each regional league are invited to the NLC Regional Promotion Series, where they face off against the bottom two NLC Division 2 teams. Major League.
Based on the various regional leagues being called, they are; UK & I League, Denmark League, Sweden League, Norway League and Finland League. You can see how the individual leagues are divided in the graphic below.
While this revamped NLC is expected to be active, the format will be used from August when the first regional leagues begin.
