Annually, the NFL plays regular season games outside of the United States. Since 2022, the “NFL International Series” has made stops in Germany as well as London and Mexico City.
Three matches in London, one in Munich and one in the capital of Mexico. This is what the NFL’s travel schedule looked like this season. The stop in Munich was an absolute highlight for NFL fans. but that is not all. In 2023 we will experience two NFL matches on German soil! The NFL gives us Germany’s double package!
Several stadiums must be renovated for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, the United States and Mexico. So does the beautiful Estadio Aztec in Mexico City. The stadium will not be available for NFL operations next year.
So Germany in 2023 will have two matches. Frankfurt is already playing as the venue for the regular match. According to BILD info, Dusseldorf and Munich are now battling it out for Match Two!

There were around 3 million requests for tickets for the 70,000-seat Allianz Arena. Clearly, the NFL didn’t want to do without such a windfall. The Brady scene in Munich confirmed that the NFL wanted to expand its German ties even further.
It was originally agreed that the NFL would play four games in Germany over the next four years. Now there are more games in Germany!
