Schmidhofer resigns

After 16 years in the Alpine Skiing World Cup, Nicole Schmidhofer has retired. The Austrian will run her last race on Thursday with the Soldeo Super G. She announced this on her thirty-fourth birthday. Schmidhofer celebrated her biggest success in February 2017 when she became world champion in Super-G in St. Moritz. She also won the Downhill Crystal Globe in the 2018/19 season. The sprinter has also celebrated four World Cup victories and stood on the podium eight times, the last time in February 2020. After a serious knee injury at the end of 2020, she can no longer match her best performances.
