The German group Lufthansa and its Swiss subsidiary will not use the “Sir or Madam” salutation on their flights in the future. English “Ladies and Gentlemen” must be a thing of the past.
Instead, cabin crew should welcome their guests on board with gender-neutral makeup, a company spokeswoman confirmed in Frankfurt on Tuesday. The regulation applies to all airlines in the group, including Austrian, Swiss, Eurowings and Brussels Airlines. At first she had “Bild Zeitung” mentioned.
