New Product A30: Bose launches a new cockpit speaker

Bose launches a new headphone 13 years after the A20. The later model should provide better wearing comfort and better noise suppression.

One of the most important pieces of equipment that pilots need in the cockpit is the headset. It is used to communicate inside and outside the aircraft and protects the pilot’s hearing. There are many manufacturers. The range ranges from established companies such as Pilot Communications or David Clark to companies that produce a variety of audio products such as Sennheiser or Bose.

The American manufacturer Bose presented a new headset at the Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo in Florida, USA: the Bose Aviation Headset A30, to give it the official name. Bose is launching a successor to the A20 after 13 years. In Europe, it will be officially presented at the AERO Friedrichshafen trade fair.

Can be used in any cockpit

According to Bose, the most important innovation is the significantly increased wearing comfort because the contact pressure on the ears of the A30 is about 20 percent lower than the previous model. The A30 also features a new Active Digital Noise Reduction system, or Active Noise Reduction, or ANR for short. This provides three different modes, depending on the ambient noise.

Bose developed the A30 for commercial and business aviation pilots and private pilots. It is FAA TSO and EASA E/TSO-C139a approved and has been rigorously tested on various aircraft.
