New gaming monitors up to 4K or 165Hz

Samsung introduced three new gaming monitors from the Odyssey Gaming Series with a flat screen. While the 28-inch G70A comes with a 4K screen, the 27-inch G60A can boast a screen with a maximum speed of 165Hz. The G30A is available in 27 and 24 inches with a Full HD display.

Samsung has announced three new gaming monitors with sizes ranging from 24 to 28 inches and a non-curved panel. If you rate monitors based on resolution only, the Odyssey G7 28″ (Model: G70A) tops the newly announced products. The IPS panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, has a viewing angle of 178 degrees and is HDR400 certified. While Samsung specifies Typical brightness as 300 cd/㎡, peak brightness should reach 400 cd/.

Freesync Premium Pro and G-Sync are on the plus side as well as a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and 1ms response time (gray-to-gray). The monitor is connected via Displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, and there is also a USB 3.0 hub.


G50A up to 165Hz

The Odyssey G5 27″ (Model: G50A) only displays 2560 x 1440 pixels, but achieves a refresh rate of 165 Hz. According to Samsung, it has a viewing angle of 178 degrees, a response time (gray-to-gray) of one millisecond and brightness of 350 cd/- This is accompanied by HDR10 certification.G-Sync is also supported, but only Freesync Premium instead of Freesync Premium Pro.To connect the monitor to a PC, Displayport 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 are available.

The Odyssey G3 27″ and 24″ (Model: G30A) was also introduced. According to Asus, both versions, whether 27 or 27 inches, offer a refresh rate of 144Hz. The response time is again specified in milliseconds, but based on the motion picture response time (MPRT). G-Sync is no longer available, but Freesync Premium is still available. Asus also sets viewing angles at 178 degrees and brightness at 250 cd/.
