Gainesville, Florida – Anthony Nesty – The head coach of Florida’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams – added another addition to his lengthy resume on Thursday, as USA Swimming – the national governing body for the sport of swimming in the United States – announced on Thursday that Neste will serve as head coach of Team Florida. US men’s swimming team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

trainer Anthony NestyHis efforts in Tokyo helped lead his University of Florida swimmers Bobby Finke and Kieran Smith to three medals, including two golds. Nesty’s Florida collegiate and professional teams combined to send seven swimmers to the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, where they earned 12 medals. The U.S. men’s swimming team earned a total of 20 medals and sent two Americans to the podium in six individual events.
Neste is joined by Todd Desorbo, who will be the US women’s head coach.

An accomplished Olympic athlete in his own right, Nestie was the first black swimmer to win an Olympic gold medal in 1988 and was the first medalist for his native Suriname.
The SEC Coach of the Year served as assistant coach for the 2023 World Aquatics Championships and men’s head coach at the 2022 FINA World Championships a year ago, marking the first time he has held the distinction as head coach of a U.S. team in international competition.
The Team USA roster for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be determined at the US Olympic Team Trials – Swimming, scheduled for June 15-23, 2024 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. More information about the experiments can be found here.
The swimming competitions at the Paris Olympic Games will be held from July 27 to August 4, 2024, while the open water swimming competition will be held from August 8 to 9, 2024.
