A waitress at a fast food restaurant in the United States will not soon forget this moment: professional basketball player Temetrius Jamal Morant, better known as “Ja Morant,” eats with her and some buddies and offers her a hefty tip – the full $500 USD.
In the video, a stunned waitress asks the donor who he is and does not recognize the NBA star. Morant jokes that he blacks Jesus and lets the waitress keep asking until she catches him. When he said he plays basketball for the Memphis Grizzlies, she said, “That boy plays there, yeah!” Only when an attendee calls out that’s also a yes, does the waitress realize who’s sitting in front of her – and react enthusiastically.
