Austrian Natasha Kampush (33 years old) lived in captivity for eight years. In August 2006, the young woman managed to escape from her kidnapper, Wolfgang Priklopil (44).
At that time, when she was ten years old, Kampush was kidnapped on her way to school and taken to Priklopil’s basement in Vienna. When the world-famous kidnapping victim managed to escape, her kidnapper threw himself in front of a train.
Now, 15 years after his escape, Kampusch is living a new life. A life in freedom. But above all, she pursues her dreams, as she revealed in an interview with “Bild”. “I imagined in captivity what it would be like to be able to ride a horse. After freeing myself, I took riding lessons.”

“People are angry with me”
Contact with horses is a type of therapy for the 33-year-old. “Being with horses calms me, and the horses find me reassuring, I seem to radiate something of their own.”
It’s different when it comes to connecting with people. “Many people were and still are angry and angry with me. At first I took it very seriously. it hurts me. Kampusch is very careful when it comes to men.
She says, “I find most men exhausting. Either I fall in love or I don’t. I feel happy even without a partner.” She is optimistic and therefore has no room for negative people. As far as her private life is concerned, Kampush would like to focus completely on herself in the future. “Today I am confident enough to do just what I want and know what is good for me and what is not.” (fmü)
