Actress Christina Applegate made her last red carpet appearance at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles. The reason: you have MS.

Christina Applegate suffers from multiple sclerosis. According to the website of the Swiss MS Society, sufferers experience disturbances in various body functions. It can include visual disturbances, balance, and paralysis of the legs, arms, and hands.

Applegate previously announced that her appearance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards – the SAG Awards for short – could be her last.

In early February, she said in an interview with Los Angeles Times: “It’s probably the award ceremony for me as an actress.” Further: “Right now I can’t imagine getting up at 5 in the morning and spending 12 to 14 hours on set.”

Applegate is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series (Dead to Me). In the end, the prize went to Jean Smart (“The Hacks”).

Christina Applegate became known to a wide audience in the 80s with the sitcom “Terribly Nice Family.” In August 2021, she announced her diagnosis.
