After their 11:7 win over Italy, Alina Patz and Sven Michel had no problem even with New Zealand at the bottom (11:3).

Sven Michel and Alina Patz made his dream start against New Zealand at the bottom. With six written stones, the match was already decided after the second end in favor of Switzerland. Only at the fifth end, the couple had to take a two-man home against strangers, but they hit back on the spot. Then it ended prematurely.

After six wins from eight matches, Switzerland are still top of Group A alongside Norway, Sweden and Japan, and on Thursday, Michel/Bates will wrap up their Round Robben with a duel against South Korea. As usual, SRF will be broadcasting the match from 2pm in a live undated broadcast.

Six houses against Italy

Patz and Michel had already launched a duel against Italy in the morning with a hit: in the first finish, the Swiss duo scored a six-man home – the limit in this discipline. And this is against Italy, who previously topped Group A with 5 wins from 6 matches.

After that, both teams played with their eyes open. Italy wrote three stones at the second end, Switzerland responded at the third end with three houses and reclaimed the 6-point lead. By the seventh finish, Italy was able to reduce the lead again to 7:10, but then it wasn’t enough for more. With the right of the last stone, Switzerland finally won in a ratio of 11:7.
