The MediaCreation Tool has now been updated and adapted by Microsoft in the background. The Media Creation Tool – MCT for short – allows you to download the Windows 10 May 2021 Update and create a bootable USB stick to install the operating system. So far, Microsoft made available an older version. Users then had to update their devices again using the Windows Update function. This is no longer necessary.
The new version is 19043.1288
As noted by Deskmodder, Microsoft has now revised the products.xml, which is responsible for retrieving the build in MCT. The way the tool works doesn’t change, it just loads a different build. According to Deskmodder, this is now Windows 10 version 19043.1288. Contains all security updates as of October patch day.
This review is especially interesting because it can be understood as a short test run of the upcoming release of the upcoming Windows 10 feature update every six months. Because on November 5, Microsoft has already promised to start distributing the final version of Windows 10 version 21H2. Next week, the Windows team should switch MCT to the final version of 21H2 so that users can easily perform the update.
Exactly how this works with the Media Creation Tool and what are the tips for installing Windows can be found on our site Read our comprehensive FAQ section. Are you getting the next big Windows update next week or are you waiting for feedback from your first switchers?
