The solar module manufacturer is clearing a hurdle when it comes to moving to the USA: As promised, it is ramping up module production in Arizona in the second quarter. The solar cells needed for this will continue to be supplied from the German site in Thalheim, at least until the solar cell plant in Colorado starts operations, the statement said. It is also positive that Meyer Berger has concluded a three-year purchase agreement with an American energy company for up to 600 megawatts per year. Contracts have already been signed with the main customer Desri, with BayWa re and with the parent company Ikea Ingka. A backlog of 5.4 gigawatts of orders has been agreed with them over the next five years.
