According to the magazine, the fast-food chain has designed a plan for this as part of a “comprehensive corporate restructuring.” In an internal letter, the company told its employees to cancel all “meetings with service providers and other outside parties at its headquarters,” according to the Wall Street Journal. “In the week of April 3, we will inform important decisions about roles and staffing across the organization,” the Wall Street Journal quoted the internal message to employees.

Several rounds of layoffs in recent years
According to the WSJ, McDonald’s employs more than 150,000 people worldwide in corporate and restaurant jobs. 70 percent of them are outside the United States. According to the WSJ, the company has already made several rounds of layoffs in recent years — and cut management at the management level in 2018.
