Marco Bedrich Racing announced:

The Pfister Racing Touring Car Challenge (PRTC) kicked off the fourth race weekend of the 2021 season at Lausitzring from September 24-26, 2021. The technically demanding track in the heart of Lausitz was tackled with a standard starting field of 14 cars. Cottbus driver Marco Bedrich competed in his home race in a Touring car and finished fifth in both races this weekend in the Chevrolet Cruze Eurocup 1.8 LT V4 Cup race car.

With so much wind and chilly temperatures, it was already Friday for free track practice. Tim Chestagh from Heidelberg secured the best training time. Marco Bedrich of Cottbus managed to set the third fastest time in training. Saturday was followed by qualifying to determine the starting grid for the two races of the weekend. Tim Chestag was once again unstoppable and put a convincing best time thus center stage. Marco Bedrich finished fifth on the net at the end of qualifying.

For Marco Bedrich of Cottbus, fifth place was the loudest sentiment for the rest of the weekend. In both races, the starting field came from the first corners without major injuries. Each is associated with the loss of a position to Marco Bedrich. In both races, the Lausitz racing driver was able to return to fifth place. However, at this point, the top four were already out of their reach to start an attack on the first places.

“Of course it’s a shame not to be on the podium at home at Lausitzring. It wasn’t supposed to be this weekend and the guys up front were very fast too. This is a race. Next weekend’s race result,” says Marko Bedrich of the weekend’s race result. I will do my best again.”

It remains exciting for the Lausitz racing driver in the championship. He is currently ranked fifth in the championship and tied for fourth place.

The racing events will soon run from 15-17. October 2021 at the Nürburgring.
