(AWP) A change will soon take place at the top of the Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate range. Dieter Weisskov will resign as CEO at the end of the year and move to the board of directors. He is succeeded by Adalbert Lechner, who previously ran the company in Germany.

Weisskov justified the withdrawal by retiring, the company announced Thursday evening. He has managed the company’s operations for the past six years and has worked in the chocolate manufacturing company for a total of 27 years. At the same time, the board of directors proposes Weisskopf as a new member of the board of directors. Elections for the next General Assembly will be held on April 24.

His successor Adalbert Lechner joined the company in 1993. He has been in charge of the German branch since 1997 and has also been a member of the management team since 2017. In addition to managing Lindt Germany, he is also responsible for the development of the Northern and Eastern European markets and the global retail/online regions . In the announcement, Lindt emphasized that the change would ensure continuity at the top of the group.

The transfer of responsibilities and adjustments to the structure will be implemented at the group management level by the end of the year.
