Nintendo showcases the most prominent of future games in the company’s special presentation on Nintendo Direct. The highlight of our September issue is a look at the successor to “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”: Tears of the Kingform will be released in May 2023.

Instead of games at gamescom in Cologne, Nintendo preferred to present its latest futuristic games at its online show again this year. The release of “Nintendo Direct” on September 13 was the first major corporate presentation of the Japanese gaming and hardware giant in more than six months.

The highlight of the nearly 40-minute show: The successor to the RPG “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, which has sold more than 27 million units. The second part is titled “Kingdom Tears” and will be released on May 12, 2023 exclusively for the Switch. A new trailer showed the barbed ear link in action – high above the clouds, floating above everything. Open World – Like the entire gameplay, it will be expanded to portrait mode.

Fantasy, flowers and James Bond

The first trailer for the new installment of the Fire Emblem series called “Engange” showed the turn-based and character-based battles that players can expect from January 20, 2023. After Xbox and PlayStation, the co-op game “It take Two” will also be released for Switch 4 November 2022.

The 2D role-playing game “Octopath Traveler 2” will follow on February 24, 2023. The mission lines change depending on whether it is day or night in the game world. It was also introduced as part of the Nintendo Direct: “Pikmin 4”. The camera has to move more than before at the level of the little creatures. “Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE” is a mystery game that will be released in the spring of 2023.

Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass subscribers get access to several N64 titles — including nostalgic highlights like “GoldenEye 007,” “Pilotwings 64,” “Mario Party 1-3,” and “Pokémon.” Stadium 1 + 2″, Excitebike 64″ and “1080 on ice”.
