Hamburger SV Karlsruhe narrowly defeated Hamburger SV and reached the first division in the second German Bundesliga.
HSV claimed their fifth win of the season with a 1-0 victory (1-0) in Round 7. With 15 points from seven matches, the club is second in the table behind SC Paderborn. Karlsruhe has slipped to the middle of the table and still has ten points. The decisive goal was scored by Ludovit Reis (43).
KSC made a strong start, but HSV took the lead
KSC developed a strong initial stage. Above all, striker Fabian Schleusner presented problems to Hamburg, only HSV goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandez stopped him several times.
At the end of the first half, HSV took a rather lucky lead into the first half. Reis scored from distance to make the score 1-0 (43rd place).
The HSV penalty was withdrawn shortly before the end
Karlsruhe remained serious after the makeover, but did not reward itself for a solid performance. Marvin Vanitzk shot from a tight corner into the short corner, but Heuer Fernandez converted the ball to the post (57′). Then HSV became more dominant again.
Reiss almost made it 2-0 for HSV, but he shot just off the right post (70′). HSV came closer in the 87th minute when he was awarded a penalty. But referee Tobias Reichel reversed the decision, and there was very little contact between Karlsruhe’s Paul Niebel and Hamburg’s Laslo Benz – it remained 1-0.
