Is UN Ambassador Leonardo DiCaprio an environmental hypocrite?

Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio repeatedly portrays himself as an environmentally conscious citizen of the world who is also an ambassador for the United Nations. But his vacation and travel behavior has drawn criticism for years – now again on a yacht in the south of France.

Leonardo DiCaprio, 47, is currently vacationing on a huge luxury yacht in the Mediterranean, and he and fellow actor Tobey Maguire, 47, prefer to use a stylish helicopter for shore excursions on the Cote d’Azur. However, what other Hollywood stars consider appropriate for their stature, was met with heavy criticism from him.

Since 2014, DiCaprio has taken on a special mandate from the United Nations as an environmental envoy. There is the use of a 91-meter “diesel slingshot” that emits the same CO2 over ten kilometers₂– Emissions recorded as an average car in one year, suboptimal.
