Opinion: Marvin Spielman, WThe hat was the early days in the new team?
Spellman: It’s all new to me because it’s my first time away from home. But everything went well and I was well received by the team.
Was it important to you that Lausanne really wanted you?
Yes, that is what motivated me. I want to play an important role. This is what the officials in Lausanne expect of me. The club wants me to make the difference and help the team. this is my goal. It will be quite a challenge because Lausanne is going through a complicated period, but I am ready.
2021 for Lausanne is finished with just one point from their last four games. Bringing new momentum with you?
I will try that. But I didn’t feel that downside. I found a healthy team with motivated players. The quality of Lausanne is much better than the dozen points. There was a lack of success stories. We need to get more results. I also like that the team is trying to develop good football.
Did you contact some players before signing?
Yes, I already knew some people from Lausanne. Best Aladdin Turks. We’ve known each other since high school where we played together until the age of 16. It’s funny that we’re seeing each other again today in Lausanne. Unfortunately he is still injured but I am looking forward to playing alongside him.
You lost your place in YB. How difficult have the past few months been for you?
It was hard to live with him. Like I said, I want to play. This is what makes me happy. I want to do a good job in Bern. It didn’t work out on the pitch. It was strange to be back on the pitch in that first game before the season with Lausanne. It felt like I still lacked the rhythm, but it feels good.
Are you disappointed with your time in Bern?
Disappointed, no. But of course I expected a lot and YB expected more from me. Things could have gone differently, but I still won two titles and the cup. I also wrote the history of the club with my goal in the final. This chapter is now closed.
Can you switch from Thun to YB again, like in 2019?
Naturally! I wouldn’t do anything differently. It was the right decision. It helped me become the player I am today. He brought me to Lausanne and I am very happy with that.
Did you already spin around the next match against YB on your calendar?
Yes. We are playing a friendly match on Saturday (He laughs). No, I didn’t write our next Premier League game. However, I don’t feel revenge on Bern. The team and officials are great. I left on good terms.
Are you now playing against relegation with Lausanne?
Naturally. We must face reality. We are ninth and I want to help the team save itself. I know what to do, I’ve tried it with Thon in the past. I am sure.
