Supermarket chain Globus counts on more luxury and has ambitious goals: sales of the nine stores in Switzerland are set to increase from 540 to 700 million francs.
In the newly renovated Zurich house on Bahnhofstrasse alone, sales are expected to grow by 30 to 40 percent from the current 120 million francs, and the number of visitors currently from four million per year by 20 percent. This is what the “balance sheet” wrote in a preliminary report.
The share of sales by tourists in particular is expected to rise sharply – it is currently only 4 percent, compared to 50 percent at the KaDeWe department store in Berlin.

Ten luxury brand stores move to the ground floor of Bahnhofstrasse: Louis Vuitton, Dior, Valentino and Moncler, for example. Balenciaga and LVMH affiliates Loewe and Off-White opened their first Swiss store there.
Then there are Boucherer, Selene and Rimoua. Thanks to the two new restaurants, Don Leone and Rooftop Garden on the top floor, the share of sales in the catering sector is expected to increase from 9 percent (before the pandemic) to 13 to 15 percent. (red)
