American actor Woody Harrelson, 60, gave an insight into his political stance at the Cannes Film Festival. In the Movie In “The Triangle of Sorrow”, which was shown for the first time at the festival, he plays the Marxist captain.

When asked about this, he said on Sunday: “I’m not a Marxist, I’m an anarchist, so we disagree in that sense.” After the audience laughed, he added:

“I’m the kind of person who thinks it’s disgusting when a superpower, with all its military might, unprovoked, takes a country like Iraq, uh, sorry, Afghani…, uh, sorry, Phet…, Korea, no, sorry, Ukraine attacked!

Harrelson added that he definitely loves his character in the movie.

Targeting the influencers and the wealthy

“The Triangle of Sorrow” is the new film by former Palme d’Or winner Robin Ostlund – a satire about the world of the influential and the wealthy.

Among other things, he plays on a luxury yacht. After this crash, a few of the ship’s passengers are stranded on an island where the hierarchy is reversed. Because the employee who takes care of the toilets on the yacht is the only one who can catch fish and light a fire thus ensuring people’s survival.

The film, which is in competition, received a standing ovation and a standing ovation that lasted for minutes on Saturday evening. German Iris Berben can be seen in a supporting role.
