The 29-year-old makes no secret of the fact that moving to the USA would have tempted him: “Because of my injury history and with only one year left on my contract, it would have been stupid and naive if I hadn’t” handled the matter. Now, however, he is happy to continue playing in HSV: ‘But immediately I saw the joy on all the boys’ faces – and it was the same with me. “

Kittel finally wants to get an upgrade with HSV

Kittel loves the fact that the club has clearly set itself a promotion target before next season. The incentive to get promoted at the end “is still tremendous. We came so close to last season, despite the setback we tasted. We felt the kind of atmosphere in Hamburg when we put in the performances. Every player is really keen to finish it at the end.”
