Great success of the Horn Primary School: in the drawing and painting competition “Our Forest, its Flora and Fauna” organized by the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture, children from the second century took second place. A total of 101 primary schools from Lower Austria participated in the competition. 196 chapters submitted their creative work, and an independent jury judged nearly 2,000 individual drawings.

Through this competition, the Chamber of Agriculture wants to promote the topic of “Biodiversity” and bring children into contact with it. “About 35,000 foresters with about 780,000 hectares of forest area in Lower Austria consciously take measures to conserve habitats for diverse and climate-friendly forests at the same time. They rely on natural management and describe the diversity in their forests as their life insurance,” explains Andrea Wagner, Deputy Head of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture.

The prize is a four-hour educational forest excursion for the whole class, a certificate and a bird’s nest box that can be hung in the school garden for bird watching.
