The feud between Heidi Klum, 48, and her father, Gunter Klum, 75, has been simmering for months. Point of contention: Babi Gunther is said to have trademarked the name of his granddaughter Lenny (17) and her nickname “Cat Mouse” without his daughter’s knowledge. This can be found in the European Patent and Trademark Office Register.
The application was approved in March of this year. This means that all of Lenny Klum’s brand rights to cosmetics, music, jewelry and fashion have been with her grandfather ever since. Heidi’s daughter does not agree with that at all. She immediately filed an annulment request. As “Bunte” wrote, the model should have had enough of her father.
Public discord ’embarrassing’
Her lawyer, Maria Horek, accuses Gunter Klum of acting “against (Lenny’s) will”. When Gunther was informed of this, he showed no insight. Gunther had “deliberately sought a public discussion”. The former manager of his daughter posted a picture of the lawyer’s speech on Instagram.
If Heidi’s legal team had its way, this approach could be detrimental to the personal development of Lenny, who is still underage. The attorney’s letter also states that perceiving family divisions “feels embarrassing” and “leads to negative reactions from the environment.”
Confusion about Lenny’s last name
Lenny’s nickname would also be important in the brawl. Because her attorney relies on naming rights. After that, everyone can protect their name. According to Horik, her client is Lenny Klum. However, August 2020 court documents state that Lenny’s last name is Samuel. Ciel (58), Heidi Klum’s ex-husband, is actually named Henry Samuel and has adopted Lenny. Neither Heidi nor Gunther responded to the request.
Günther Klum commented on this via Instagram. He doesn’t think his plots should be harmful to Lenny. “Obviously, my granddaughter’s actions prove otherwise,” he writes. The alleged evidence is direct messages on the social media platform that Lenny was said to have sent to her grandfather. However, the date cannot be seen on the screenshot. To do so, he shares a handwritten signature card photo of his granddaughter and daughter: “To Grandma and Grandpa. Your cat mouse.”

Meanwhile, Heidi Klum’s team withdrew the nullification request, one of her lawyers, Christian Oliver Moser, told Bild. But they don’t give up on it. The action is supposed to be a ploy to keep the conflict out of the public eye. The next step may be to request confidentiality. This would prevent Heidi and Lenny’s attorneys from seeing the current state of the proceedings at the Patent and Trademark Office. (BSN)
