In the annual Language Cup competition, held by the Burgenland University of Education (which took place online for the second time this year), student Anna Koberl of 8a BORG took first place in the “Latino Short Form” category.
The task was to translate the texts of Dietmar Plevkin (a sixteenth-century traveler and geographer) into the customs, dress code and educational methods of Icelanders; Köberl had 100 minutes to do so.
For Director Robert Anthony, this achievement underscores what BORG Güssing stands for. “Our school stands for general education and also places great importance on students’ language acquisition. In addition, Anna Koberl’s result documents this effort.”
A total of more than 100 students from Burgenland participated in the language competition.
