German goalkeeper Almuth Schulte will move from Wolfsburg to Angels City in the United States of America after the European Summer Championship. The Los Angeles team announced this on Wednesday.

Schulte finishes the season in the Bundesliga and Champions League with Wolfsburg and participates in the European Championship in England with Germany before going to California in the summer. There the 31-year-old gets a one-season contract with the option of another season.

“It has always been my dream to play in the NFL,” Schulte said, according to the announcement.

Angels City FC begins its inaugural season in NWSL

Angels City FC begins its first season in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) on April 29. By the time Schulte joins the squad, the team has already played several games this season.

Angels City FC is majority owned by women. Actress Natalie Portman is one of the founders of the project and is one of the Hollywood greats committed to the project.
