Spain: Lewandowski with his first double from Barcelona
Robert Lewandowski scored for Barcelona for the first time in his second game – twice. In the 4-1 win away to Real Sociedad San Sebastian, the former Bayern striker gave the visitors the lead after just 46 seconds on his 34th birthday. The host team reacted immediately when they were late, but Barcelona converted their supremacy into goals after the break. Ousmane Dembele (66th place), again Lewandowski (68th place) and Ansu Fati (79th place) took the win.
England: Chelsea lose in Leeds
Chelsea suffered their first defeat in the third round of the English Premier League. Away from Leeds, the “Blues” lost 3-0. Goalkeeper Edward Mendy started the defeat just over half an hour later with a huge error when he tried to dribble Brendan Aaronson with his heel. Manchester City lost points for the first time in their 3-3 victory over Newcastle. The hosts came from 1-0 down and were now 3-1 ahead, but Man City managed to equalize thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva. Fabian Scherr played for Newcastle and was warned.
