The Australian Football Association (FFA) wants to host the Men’s World Cup in 2030 or 2034. The association is currently developing plans for an application, according to top FFA staff. So far the men’s football is not under the World Cup. However, Australia will co-host the 2023 Women’s World Cup with New Zealand.
“We’re going to have a big competition in 2023,” said James Johnson, association manager for the Australian newspaper. Matches if we make it successful. “
The former head of the Olympic Application for Sydney 2000 says: “I started working for 2030 (possibly in application, i.e. red). I have a feeling we need to start it.”
Three major events in some years
Women’s Football World Cup in 2023 and possibly Men’s World Cup in 2030 or 2034, Brisbane recently won an attempt to host the 2032 Olympics. So this will be another major event in a few years.
Australia have already applied for the 2022 World Cup, but failed by only one vote. So far, only Spain and Portugal have announced joint applications for the 2030 World Cup. The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. (SID / che)
