Dominic Egli, Valentin Nussbaumer and Noah Rudd cannot travel with the national team to the German Cup in Krefeld due to injury. Coach Patrick Fisher nominated Roger Carrier (24), Tyler Mooy (26, Servette) and Sandro Schmid (21, Friborg) in their place.
The Servet Rod captain was injured in front of Friborg on Friday, and Nussbaumer must undergo another operation on his left hand after unscrewing the screws from the last operation in the spring. Defender Egli sustained a shoulder injury in his collision with Empress Matt D’Agostini on Saturday.
Schmid before Nati’s debut
With Schmid, as well as goalkeepers Ludovic Waeber (ZSC Lions), Philipp Wüthrich (SCB) and striker Nando Eggenberger (SCRJ Lakers), another newcomer could make his international debut at Krefeld.
The national team rally begins on Monday at OYM in Cham, where there are four training modules in the program through Wednesday. Patrick Fischer’s team will travel to Krefeld on Wednesday. Switzerland will meet Slovakia, Germany and Russia in the German Cup in Krefeld. (SR)
